2026 Horse Shows & Events Schedule
The Johnson County 4-H Horse Committee in Cleburne, Texas sponsors several open horse shows throughout the year. These are open to any age exhibitor on any breed horse and we especially cater to the beginning exhibitor young or old. We have several families who have three generations showing with us which attests to our family atmosphere. You will see backyard horses as well as World Champions at our shows. We are proud to offer a show that appeals to such a variety of exhibitors. Of course these shows would not be possible without the numerous 4-H volunteers who work throughout the year to make it happen.

The Horse Committee also sponsors a "Spring Open Horse Show Series". This consists of four shows and leads up to the District 8 Horse Show in June for our 4-H exhibitors. This is a more formal show series requiring appropriate English and Western show attire. Series awards, usually buckles,will be presented at our annual awards banquet in the summer. Hope you get a chance to come and show with us.
Show Forms
Shows are held at the Johnson County Sheriffs Posse indoor arena on Main Street about a mile south of the Johnson County Courthouse in Cleburne.
This facility has limited stalls available, approximately 12 RV hookups, plenty of tie space under cover, bleachers, restrooms. It is a large arena where we will do trail at one end and the rail classes at the other.

The Fall Horse Shows consist of three shows sponsored by the 4-H Horse Committee . Formal show attire is required. The late October show hosts our famous "Halloween Extravaganza" costume class which has grown to quite an "interesting event". The 3 fall shows used to be Clinic/ show combination. These 3 shows now are full fledged shows with Halter, and performance and speed classes.
